March 16-18 -- Santa Barbara International Orchid Show, Earl Warren Showground's. Tickets: $10 adults, $8 seniors/students with ID, Free for children 12 & under (with adult) at the door; tickets also available through Ticketmaster.  Now in its 62nd year, the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show is one of the oldest and largest orchid shows in the country. The three-day event showcases displays of hundreds of different orchid species and named varieties. This year's theme is “Orchids Gone Wild!” and more than 70 exhibitors from the U.S. and foreign countries will exhibit their most unique plants. Special features include ongoing demonstrations about orchid culture and care, a flower arrangement area, plants and orchid memorabilia for sale, and information about open houses at local orchid nurseries.
